Workers’ Compensation. For the people who keep the business running.
If you have employees, Pennsylvania typically requires workers’ compensation. Beyond the legal mandate, this is the coverage that takes care of your team when they get hurt on the job, covering medical care, lost wages, and rehabilitation while they recover.
A well built workers’ comp program is more than a compliance line. It protects the business from direct injury lawsuits, controls premium through proper class codes, and keeps your experience modifier in a place that does not haunt your renewals.
Who is it for?
Every Pennsylvania employer with one or more workers.
The mandate applies to nearly every business in PA. Companies with higher payroll, complex operations, multiple class codes, and subcontractor usage usually face the most scrutiny at audit time.
Business Owners Policy. The efficient starting point for most small operations.
A BOP rolls property, general liability, and business income protection into one efficient policy. For most small and mid sized businesses, it is the cleanest way to cover the essentials without stacking separate policies.
Property covers your building, equipment, and inventory. Liability covers third party claims. Business income covers lost revenue while you recover from a covered loss, which is often the piece that determines whether a business survives a major incident.
Who is it for?
Small to mid sized businesses with a physical footprint.
Offices, retail shops, restaurants, light manufacturers, and service businesses with a building, equipment, or inventory worth protecting.
Commercial Property. For the building, the equipment, and everything inside.
Whether you own the building or lease the space, the physical assets your business runs on need protection. Commercial property covers the structure, the equipment, the inventory, and the contents that keep operations moving.
When a BOP does not fit, or when an operation needs broader property coverage than a bundled package delivers, a standalone commercial property policy is the right structure. Coverage applies to fire, theft, vandalism, water damage, and other named perils.
Who is it for?
Any business with a fixed location or significant physical assets.
Building owners, retail spaces, manufacturers, warehouses, restaurants, and any operation where equipment, inventory, or fixtures represent meaningful replacement value.
Inland Marine. For property that moves, or is stored away from your premises.
Standard commercial property policies cover what is at a fixed location. Inland marine covers the gaps: tools and equipment on job sites, inventory in transit, contractor equipment, mobile medical devices, and other property that leaves the four walls.
Despite the name, there is nothing nautical about it. Inland marine is the coverage class that evolved to handle property in motion or stored offsite. Contractors, equipment rental operations, photographers, fine arts dealers, and healthcare practices with mobile assets all benefit from this coverage.
Who is it for?
Businesses with property that moves or is stored away from the main location.
Contractors with tools on job sites, trucking and courier operations, florists and caterers, media and production companies, and any business that regularly sends valuable property off-premises.
General Liability. Protection against the third party claims that come out of nowhere.
Customers, vendors, and visitors interact with your business every day. If one of them gets hurt on your premises, or you accidentally damage a client’s property, general liability is what stands between you and a costly lawsuit.
This is the coverage almost every commercial lease, vendor contract, and client agreement requires. It covers bodily injury, property damage to others, personal and advertising injury, and the legal defense costs that come with all of it.
Who is it for?
Anyone with customers, clients, or foot traffic.
Contractors, retailers, restaurants, professional offices, service businesses, and any operation where someone outside the company interacts with the business.
Commercial Auto. For the trucks, vans, and cars doing the work.
Personal auto policies do not cover vehicles used for business. If your team drives to job sites, transports tools, makes deliveries, or hauls equipment, commercial auto is what stands between a fender bender and a six figure problem.
Coverage extends to bodily injury and property damage liability, collision and comprehensive on the vehicle itself, medical payments, and hired or non-owned auto when employees use their own vehicles for company errands.
Who is it for?
Any business with vehicles in the mix.
Contractors, trades, delivery operators, sales teams, service techs, landscaping crews, and any operation where employees drive for work, even occasionally.
Excess & Umbrella Liability. Extra liability protection that kicks in when standard limits run out.
Standard liability limits sound like a lot until a serious claim arrives. An umbrella policy sits on top of your general liability, auto, and employer liability policies, activating when those underlying limits are exhausted.
For most operations, the cost of an additional one or two million in coverage is modest compared to the protection it adds. Many vendor contracts, lease agreements, and larger client engagements require umbrella limits as a condition of doing business.
Who is it for?
Any business with meaningful exposure to a serious claim.
Operations with customer foot traffic, vehicles on the road, employees in the field, premises liability, or contracts that require higher limits than a standard policy delivers.
Professional Liability (E&O). For the advice and services you deliver.
Professional liability, also called errors and omissions, protects service based businesses when a client claims your advice or work caused them financial harm. Whether the claim has merit or not, the legal defense alone can be expensive.
Coverage includes defense costs, settlements, and judgments tied to claims arising from professional services. It applies to work already delivered, not just future engagements, so prior acts coverage is something we look at carefully when placing this policy.
Who is it for?
Service businesses, consultants, and licensed professionals.
Accountants, attorneys, consultants, financial advisors, IT firms, design agencies, marketing firms, real estate offices, and any business that delivers expertise or services for a fee.
Cyber Liability. Defense against breaches, ransomware, and data exposure.
If your business stores customer information, handles payments, or runs on connected systems, a cyber incident is no longer a question of if. Cyber liability covers the response, the restoration, and the legal fallout when something goes wrong.
Coverage can include breach response, customer notification, credit monitoring, ransomware recovery, business interruption from system downtime, wire fraud, and the legal costs that follow regulatory investigations or class action suits.
Who is it for?
Any business with customer data, payment systems, or connected operations.
Healthcare practices, accounting and legal firms, retailers, e-commerce operations, professional services, manufacturers with connected systems, and any business that processes payments or stores personal data.
Management Liability. Protection for the people running the business and the decisions they make.
Management liability is a suite of coverages designed to protect business owners, directors, officers, and the company itself from claims tied to how the business is run. These are the exposures that arise from decisions, not accidents.
A management liability package typically combines several distinct coverages under one structure, each addressing a different dimension of leadership and operational risk. We build these programs based on company size, ownership structure, and the specific exposures the business faces.
Who is it for?
Four distinct coverages in one program.
Crime - employee theft, forgery, and fraud. Employment Practices Liability - wrongful termination, harassment, and discrimination claims. Fiduciary Liability - claims tied to benefit plan management. Directors & Officers - personal liability for leadership decisions.

The Independent Advantage
Four things you can count on. From every conversation we have.
Most agencies hand you off to a claims department the moment something happens. We do not work that way. When you call about a claim, you get the same person who wrote your policy, the one who already knows your file. Here is what the process looks like from your side.
You call us. Directly.
One number, one person, no phone tree. We talk through what happened, what is needed, and what to expect next.
We file and document. With the carrier.
We open the claim, send across the documentation, and make sure the adjuster has everything they need on day one.
We stay on the case. Through the process.
Adjusters get busy. Files get buried. We follow up, escalate when needed, and keep your claim moving instead of waiting.
We see it through. To resolution.
From settlement offer to final payment, we are at the table making sure the outcome matches the coverage you paid for.
Claim time is the moment insurance either earns its keep or fails. Either way, I am there.
Industries We Work With
The kind of businesses we sit across the table from.
Every industry has its own quirks, risks, and contract language. These are the spaces we work in most. If your operation does not show up here, that does not mean we cannot help. It usually means a conversation is the right next step.
